About the Laughing Buddha

The Laughing Buddha, or Budai, is a cheerful figure from Chinese folk tradition, based on a wandering monk. His round belly and wide smile stand for contentment and plenty, and folk tradition holds that rubbing the belly brings luck.

In Chinese tradition the dragon is a symbol of strength, good fortune and success. Together they make a popular piece for a home or a place of business.
